This dragon rescues princes Locked away above my lair When the ballgowns and the finery Become too much to bear. The storybooks will tell you a local prince came by, That two people left together, I'll tell you that's a lie The princess that was left here so many years ago Never actually existed but nobody else could know. It happens every time, they come creeping down to me The Dragon, their new guardian, and this is what they see: An endless hoard of photographs, discarded shoes and gowns, A perfect pair of scissors by a mirror, and a crown. Deeper in the cavern mismatched armour pieces piled, I'll always remember how my first prince smiled The hoard I keep is memories my boys no longer need. I help them find new stories and their secret's safe with me. And now I have another hidden prince up in that room He hasn't come to see me yet, but I can sense his gloom. They come here doomed by curses, the only gift the king can give Is lock away the princess so the prince inside can live. This Dragon Rescues Princes.

Sirensong 05:36
In a town by the ocean There's a rock in the harbour And there sits a siren Who sings with the waves In her words is the notion Of such pitiful ardour That all those who hear it Are doomed now to stray Like lambs to the slaughter They are drawn to the water Never again to see light of day Would it be so bad to spend eternity Living deep below Dancing in the plankton's glow We have no need for air or gravity Take a dive and you will know Join me If you stand on the sea wall In the mist is a shadow In the shape of a woman There's a pressure in your head And you feel that you may fall To the rocks far below On the wind there are voices Keening for the dead And the waves crash on the shore And you can't take much more Turn away now, run home to your bed Or fly into eternity Take the siren's breath Learn the song to conquer death There's no more need for air or gravity Refuse, and live bereft Or join me Perhaps it's the dawning light Or the song's gentle sorrow You could capture that feeling If you just reach out your hand Something doesn't feel right Maybe come back tomorrow But that would mean leaving And your feet stick in the sand If you can hold out til mid-day The sun will burn the mists away But what are you hoping to find that's better on land? I offer you eternity Here amid the waves I sing to those I long to save You're bound by air and gravity Burning down into your grave Join me Could I resist eternity Had I turned from the sea Maybe they'd still sing for me I've no more use for air or gravity A siren I must be Join me

about

After a hiatus of a year I'm trying to get back to recording my music. I have kept writing in the interim so hopefully this is the first of several to come in the next few months.
